Matt started riding his first motorcycle at the age of 6! He then progressed to his first “trials bike” when he was 7 yrs old aboard a Beta 50 automatic.
The sport of trials is in his blood and is a family affair as Matt’s Dad Steve is a 4 Time National Champ, and has tutored Matt along the way as he has been perfecting his technique over the years.
Now 17, Matt has in earnest started to carve out his own path, and begin a somewhat meteoric rise in the Canadian Trials scene. He has already won along the way, two National Championships of his own. In 2009 Matt was the Intermediate Champ, and in 2011 the Advanced Champion.
Now, in 2013, Matt has seen a huge leap in his strength, growth, and riding ability, and has started the season in the Pro class in Canadian Nationals. His continued dedication, and ability will help him to keep progressing! Follow the path of one of the most exciting prospects of this sport in Canada to happen for a long time.
This season will also continue with another first for Matt, as he tackles the US National trials Championships this summer, and attempt to win the very competitive High School class. This class has been won by many future stars in the past, and Matt hopes to make a big splash down south this season.
